A look through the grades

kindergarten
Our kindergarten offers a nurturing, home-like environment where children prepare for the academic journey that begins in 1st grade. Each day follows a steady rhythm, creating a sense of safety, warmth, and readiness to explore. Cooking soup and baking bread together fosters teamwork, with the reward of sharing their creations as a class. Students engage in social-emotional lessons, physical activities, games that prepare their minds for learning, and imaginative play that honors the joy of childhood.

Grades 1-5
From 1st through 5th grade, students experience a rich and engaging curriculum filled with unique learning opportunities. Third graders might cook a meal each week, tend to a farm and garden block, or build shelters, while fifth graders train for and participate in the Pentathlon. Our approach introduces each subject at the right developmental stage, and teaches through the head, heart, and hands—engaging thinking, feeling, and doing.

Grades 6-8
By middle school, students share a strong, trusting bond with their teacher—someone who knows them deeply and offers guidance as they explore the wider world. This safe, supportive relationship empowers students to take risks, ask big questions, and develop independence, with teachers offering a gentle push or steady hand when needed.
