our charter
At Peace Valley Charter School, we honor the unique potential of every child. Our mission is to equip students with the tools, creativity, and resilience they need to meet the challenges of a changing world with confidence and purpose.
Rooted in the Waldorf tradition, our educational model draws from a century-old movement with over 1,800 Waldorf schools worldwide. While many of these schools are private, a growing number—like Peace Valley—are part of the expanding network of public Waldorf schools across the United States. This approach integrates academic rigor with the arts, nature, and hands-on learning, fostering deep thinking, practical skills, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

core principles of waldorf education
Our work is guided by the following principles that define Waldorf education:
-
A Holistic View of the Human Being
We see each child as a whole person—intellectual, emotional, and physical—with the capacity to grow in wisdom, compassion, and purpose.
-
Developmentally Informed Teaching
Our curriculum and teaching methods are shaped by an in-depth understanding of child development, aligned with legal requirements.
-
Education for Social Good
We believe education is a powerful driver of positive change—for both individuals and the broader community.
-
Human Connection at the Center
Strong relationships among students, teachers, families, and staff form the foundation of our school culture.
-
Equity and Inclusion
We are committed to fostering a diverse school community where every child and family feels welcome and seen.
-
Collaborative Leadership
Leadership is a shared responsibility, carried out with integrity and in partnership with staff, families, and our broader community.
-
Lifelong Learning
We cultivate curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning—for students and adults alike.
Strategic Plan
In early 2022, Peace Valley Charter School brought together its governing council, administration, faculty, 8th grade students, advisory committee, and parents for a collaborative strategic planning process. Through group sessions and a full-day workshop, participants identified the school’s strengths, challenges, opportunities, and threats.
From this shared effort, the community developed goals, objectives, and action steps to guide Peace Valley’s growth and decision-making in the years ahead. The time and commitment of all stakeholders were vital in shaping a Strategic Plan that reflects the values of our community and provides a clear direction for the future.
